About Us
Tagon-ons in USA Foundation Inc. is a not for profit organization who aspires to be an active community partner in serving those who are in need both here in the USA and abroad; especially the people of the municipalities of Tago, Bayabas, Cagwait and San Miguel in the province of Surigao del Sur, Philippines. Tagon-ons in USA also aims to inspire fellow Tagon-ons who are dreaming of a better life in the United States of America. We have been around since July 5, 1988 but it wasn’t officially registered as a not-for-profit organization in the state of Texas not until April 23, 2007. The idea of organizing the Tagon-ons who were living in the USA was a result of the collective effort of the early Tagon-ons migrants namely: Guilberto Medrano, Bob Risma, Mike Montero, Dr & Mrs Sedring Risma, Lorna Correos Shearer, Vicente and Mary Correos, Emna Luna and Nympha White ( Tago), Feling Salon, Carlos Montero, Dr Juan ” Dodong” Montero ( Bayabas) Alyn and Sam Vivares, Lito and Linda Climaco, Serge Ceralde ( Cagwait)
Since then, Tagon-ons in USA have been holding reunions in different states and engaged in various projects & programs like Medical Mission and Scholarship Programs in the province of Surigao del Sur, Philippines. The organization recently rolled out a plan to engage in projects like 1.) Skills Development Program 2.) Senior Citizen Assistance Program 3.) School Supplies Distribution 4.) Disaster Relief Operation. We are solely dependent on individual donations and gifts but since, we are a qualified 501© (3) organization registered in Texas, so all donations are tax deductible to the fullest extent of the law. The realization of these abovementioned programs is contingent to the generosity of kind-hearted people who wants to make a difference in the lives of those who are in need. Please be counted!
